Gaggenau Oven Ignitors
The company's current product line includes single convection ovens available in 24- and 30-inch models, a
24-inch lift oven, a double-convection dual 30-inch oven, and a 36-inch single convection oven. All these
products include a core temperature sensor designed to shut the oven off automatically once the food's desired
temperature is reached. The company also maintains gas, electric and induction cooktop products with additional
features, such as Pyrolytic self-cleaning and cooled housing that offers temperature protection.
Gaggenau's History
According to the company's website, its first factory was built in 1683 to fulfill a contract for an iron-headed
hammer by which metallic goods could be produced. The company began producing gas ovens in the late 19th century.
To enhance the durability of its product lines, the ovens featured enamel that would become the company's
specialty. When chef Georg von Blanquet took over in 1961, he led the company to a reshaped brand based in subtle
aesthetics and self-described restaurant-grade quality.
Troubleshooting Gaggenau Oven Ignitors
Gaggenau says all of its appliances now include new gas technology based on the ionisation principle. This new
technology offers two primary advantages: fast ignition and electronic flame monitoring. In older models, the
control knob had to be pressed for an additional 5 to 8 seconds because the old technology--a thermoelectric
safety pilot--needed the heat sensor (which opened the gas channel) to warm up first. With the new technology,
the knob now only needs to be pressed, turned and released--and the flame is ignited and stabilized. Known
replacement igniter parts include Z11-BO280-12W for an oven ignitor, and Z11-BO280-22W for the burners' spark
igniters.
Warranty Information
Gaggenau's standard warranty is one year for parts and labor. Parts purchased outside of the warranty period
have a one-year warranty from the date of purchase.
