Dynasty Oven Ignitors

No longer sold under the Dynasty name, the product line was manufactured by Jade Range Co., which still operates and sells its ovens and ranges under the Jade Product Line. The Dynasty line is now limited to outdoor products, offering what Jade calls an "a la carte outdoor cooking system that enables the customization of an outdoor cooking center, working off of stainless steel modular bases that integrate with the company's series of freestanding grills." Jade's rebranded stoves feature fully welded steel drip pans and flush mounted commercial infrared broilers, as well as wrap-around oven racks and interiors the company says can accept commercial sheet pans, even in the 36-inch model.

Dynasty's History

California-based Jade Range Co. was founded in 1975 and purchased by Maytag Co. in 1999. Valued at about $20 million, the deal served to help Maytag expand its home and commercial product lines. At the time of the acquisition, Jade was still manufacturing the Dynasty brand as a residential product line, but the Dynasty residential range line has been discontinued in the last five years.

Troubleshooting Dynasty Oven Ignitors

In 2001, Jade Products recalled more than 3,000 Dynasty-branded ranges because the igniters were built too far from the burners, potentially causing a delayed ignition. As such, the resulting abnormal release of gas caused fire to escape from the oven, a situation Jade said at the time resulted in three injuries. The recalled Dynasty gas ranges are model numbers DGRSC and DGR(c), with serial numbers from 050198-A through 280200-Z. The serial plate, which contains the model and serial numbers, is located under the right burner grate support on model DGRSC, and under the left burner grate (on the left side wall) on model DGR(c). The burner grill must be removed to see the serial plate. The ranges are 30-, 36-, 48-, or 60-inches wide. "Dynasty" is printed on the lower right corner of the oven door. Burner ignitors for Dynasty ranges can be identified by letters--commonly "c," "s" or "m" igniters. The main oven igniter is labeled differently, an example of which can be located by part #688692.

All Jade ranges And cooktops come with a two-, five-, or 10-year limited warranty from the date of original purchase. Parts warranties are for one year if purchased outside of the warranty period.
