Crosley Oven Ignitors

Crosley makes a full line of more than 20 electric ranges and a dozen gas ranges with a broad array of features, offering something for virtually everyone. Ranges such as its CRE3890GWW come with a large 5.4-cubic-foot capacity and a 9-inch power 3000W element, two 6-inch elements, and a 6-inch element that expands to 9 inches at the flip of a switch, all based in a ceramic smooth-top cooking surface. High-speed convection and two-setting broilers are also available. Crosley's largest gas range, the CRG3490GSS, is a 5-cubic-foot model with sealed burners peaking at 16,000 BTUs.

Crosley's History

Formed in 1976 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Crosley Corp. consists of a group of independently owned distributors who resurrected the Crosley trade name and introduced a line of refrigerators, freezers, ranges, dishwashers, air conditioners and other appliances. The company was established as a nonprofit organization designed to help independent distributors and retailers compete through products the company says are available only through trained, independent appliance retailers.

Troubleshooting Crosley Oven Ignitors

Customers should take care to check the model number on their igniter when preparing to replace it. A common replacement is made by Maytag, labeled as part #12400035, a Flat Oven Igniter Kit. The package also contains any necessary pieces to replace ceramics longer than the as-is 3 1/2-inch model the kit comes with, which also includes an 8-inch lead wire. Another replacement igniter replaces part #0309159. This part also replaces IGN-6, 41-206 and GR-408 flat Norton-style oven igniters, which come with a valve that opens at 3.2 to 3.6 amps. The first item is more common among Crosley ovens, however.

Warranty Information

All Crosley appliances come with a first-year parts and labor warranty, plus the company's exclusive 10-year limited warranty. Manufacturer's warranties on ignitors and spark modules are one year from date of purchase.
