Bosch Oven Ignitors
Bosch offers a full line of ranges, cooktops and built-in ovens. For ranges, Bosch's line comes in Evolution and
Integra models, the former available in gas, electric or dual-fuel technologies. The high-end Integra line also
comes in electric and dual-fuel models as well. Its Evolution series features a European Convection system with
Advanced Circulation, using eight vents to optimize the circulation of heated air for more even cooking and
baking. The series also comes with a PowerSim burner that features up to 16,000 BTUs for faster boiling, searing
and stir frying, though the company also notes its versatility in acting as a simmer plate. The Integra line
features one 16,000 BTU and two additional 12,500 BTU power burners, a large warming drawer and a True Hidden
Bake element, as well as convection features. Both series boast 4.6 cubic feet of capacity. The built-in ovens
offer 16 different heating modes and speed convection. They also use recessed top-heating elements and fully
concealed bottom-heating elements, allowing for greater interior capacity, which Bosch maintains is the largest
available at 4.7 cubic feet.
Bosch's History
In 1886, German engineer Robert Bosch formed a "Workshop for Precision Mechanics and Engineering." It took 20
years for his first U.S. subsidiary, an organization that would ultimately become Robert Bosch LLC. By 1990,
Bosch had picked up more than 40 worldwide units, leading the company to reach 100 countries in the next decade.
Troubleshooting Bosch Oven Igniters
The type of ignitor used depends on the cooking device. For example, many Bosch cooktops use part AP3196470,
identified as a spark ignitor electrode. There are also separate igniters for different aspects of the oven. For
example, a Bosch freestanding gas range has a standard oven burner ignitor but also separate igniters for the
upper broiler and for the grill/griddle. Bosch igniters can be purchased directly through the company. However,
if you're looking online seeking a cheaper model, check under Bosch Ignition Module or Spark Ignitor Electrode,
rather than simply Bosch Ignitor.
Warranty Information
Bosch's warranty lasts for 12 months from the oven's date of purchase. During the warranty period, Bosch or
one of its authorized service providers will repair the product free of charge. Parts purchased for an
out-of-warranty product are also covered for one year.
