Charmglow Grill Ignitors
Charmglow Grills was once owned by American conglomerate Beatrice Foods Co. but was purchased by Brinkmann Corp.
of Dallas. Four gas grills and two "all-in-one" cookers are featured by Brinkmann.
The all-in-ones offer a single appliance that can be used as a gas or charcoal smoker and as a gas or charcoal grill. The
company also sells stoves and other camping gear, as well as boating, lawn and garden products.
History
Founded in 1894 as the Beatrice Creamery Co. in Beatrice, Nebraska, the original Charmglow owner went from
processing foods to making cream separators for sale to dairy farmers. Between the 1950s and 1970s, Beatrice
Foods came to own a number of disparate brands, including Avis Rent a Car, Playtex, Tropicana, and Good &
Plenty candy-making operations. In the mid 1980s, Beatrice Foods became the target of other corporations, and in
1990 the last of the Beatrice assets were sold to ConAgra Foods. Most of the Beatrice brands and trademarks are
now owned by various companies. The Brinkmann Corp., buyer of the Charmglow grill division, has been in business
for 30 years. The Texas company makes grills, smokers, fryers, a number of outdoor lighting products and pet
beds, among other home and garden products.
Special Features Of Charmglow Grill Ignitors
Some Charmglow grill models feature side burners, one-touch electronic ignitors and under-grill storage space.
