Norton Furnace Ignitors

Invensys Controls, part of the Invensys PLC family of companies, makes the Norton Furnace Ignitor brand. Invesys Controls manufactures products used in the water heating, HVAC, automotive, and commercial refrigeration markets. The company is also in the replacement parts business, marketing and distributing products for many brands of OEM equipment, including thermostats, valves, zone controls, timers and electronic components.

Corporate History

Based in London, Invesys PLC was formed by the merger of Siebe PLC and BTR PLC in 1999. The multinational engineering company has operations in more 60 countries and employs approximately 23,000 workers. Invensys trades as ISYS on the London Stock Exchange as part of the FTSE 100 Index.

Product Lines

Norton makes hot surface ignitors for a wide range of gas-fired ignition systems and applications. The ignitors have been touted as having significant physical and thermal strength as well as a variety of design and mounting styles. Norton 24V or 120V CRYSTAR ignitors are paired with 120V, 208Vand 240V ignition systems. They're used for a spectrum of HVAC appliances, including furnaces, boilers, rooftops, infrared burners, water heaters, and unit heaters. A Mini-Ignitor is also available in 12V, 24V, 120V and 230V models. Norton works with OEMs to supply ignitors, and it also provides replacement parts through wholesalers and e-tailers for brands such as Amana, White-Rodgers, Trane, Armstrong and Robertshaw.
