Ignitor Products

Honeywell Ignitor Flame Rod Assemblies are used in Honeywell Smart Valve applications to replace primary flame rod assemblies. Distributors observe that most Honeywell Ignitors will fit both old and current Smart Valve models. However, experts say it is vital to verify ignitor compatiblity, as some ignitors are model-specific. Honeywell ignitor products function with both single- and dual-rod hot surface ignition systems and can be used to replace more than 100 Hot Surface Ignition modules made, not only by Honeywell itself, but other manufacturers such as White-Rodgers.

Company History

With roots more than 120 years old, Honeywell's name has long been recognizable. Inventor Albert Butz patented the furnace regulator and alarm in 1885, predating by some 20 years Mark Honeywell's development of the heat generator as part of his plumbing and heating business. Their respective companies--Butz Thermo-Electric Regulator Co. and Honeywell Heating Specialty Co., respectively--would ultimately merge in 1927 to create Minneapolis-Honeywell Regulator Co. After selling products internationally for a decade, the company began its own international expansion, a trend the company has continued throughout its history, escalating further since its renaming as Honeywell Inc. in 1963. From electronic autopilots to the now-common T-86 round thermostat, Honeywell's developments have been part of the international technological landscape for more than a century.

Honeywell's Warranty

Honeywell's liability is limited to repairing or replacing the ignitor or related part, which is found defective solely at the company's discretion. Warranty coverage is for one year and includes 100 percent parts replacement plus a 1-hour labor allowance if necessary.
