A Brief History Of Carrier
Founded by the inventor of the first climate-control system, Carrier Corp. was founded in 1915. Today, Carrier is
a part of UTC (United Technologies). The founder and namesake of Carrier Corp., Willis Carrier, was responsible
for identifying and developing the primary laws and devices responsible for creating the HVAC industry. Today,
Carrier is one of the largest manufacturers of HVAC equipment and refrigeration equipment for residential and
commercial needs.
Product Line Information
Carrier furnace ignitors use hot surface technology to maximize safety, reduce debris accumulated from combustion,
and ensure longer operation. Carrier furnace ignitors are used in Bryant furnaces, as well as Payne and BDP
furnaces. Ignitor models such as the Carrier LH33ZS004 Hot Surface Ignitor and the Bryant Carrier Nitride Ignitor
(Part #LH33ZG001) are used throughout a wide array of furnace types.
Carrier Warranty Coverage
Carrier provides a limited lifetime warranty on heat exchangers in their furnaces but a five-year warranty on
other parts within the system. However, some models carry only a 19-year warranty on the heat exchanger. Carrier
furnace ignitors and control units are covered by a two-year extended warranty for defects in workmanship, though
this will only cover the cost of replacement costs and not the cost of labor.
